Incumbents sweep Tuesday's township elections in Castle Rock, Empire and Eureka

The results are in for the March 12 township elections in Castle Rock, Empire and Eureka. Incumbents won seats in all three communities, and Castle Rock voters approved a measure to let township officials appoint the township clerk's position.

The CapX2020 utilities have started construction on the estimated $500 million, 150-mile Hampton-Rochester-La Crosse 345 kilovolt project. The first segment under construction is the 16-mile 161 kV line between a new north Rochester substation near Pine Island and the existing Northern Hills Substation in northwest Rochester.

Rosemount woman charged in Empire roundabout crash

A 50-year-old Rosemount woman faces felony charges of criminal vehicular operation after a Friday night accident in which she lost control in a roundabout at Highway 3 and 190th Street and hit another car head on. The woman, Elizabeth Dawn Nelson, was seriously hurt in the accident. Three others received minor injuries.

Dakota City offers summer day camps for area kids

Dakota City Heritage Village in Farmington will again be offering several four-day sessions of day camp in summer 2013. Day camp will run Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each camper will need to bring a bag lunch and a water bottle each day.
