Swimming: Farmington's record-setting ways continue at state
Farmington once again saved its best for last at the Class 2A State Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Tigers, who set all-time program bests last year when they placed 17th at state with 43 points, raised the bar with another record-setting performance in Saturday’s finals at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.

Swimming: Tigers take second in True Team section meet
Sophomore Kaitlyn O’Reilly was part of two meet-record performances, and finished first in all four of her events in leading Farmington to second place in the Section 1AA True Team Meet Saturday at Dodge Middle School.
The Tigers scored 596 points, 25 off the pace of meet champion Rochester John Marshall. Owatonna placed third with 425 points and Winona was fourth with 393 points.

Swimming: Depth keys opening victory
Apple Valley won seven of 12 events in its season-opening meet against Farmington last Thursday night at Levi Dodge Middle School.
The Eagles couldn’t match the Tigers’ depth, however, as the Orange and Black used four 2-3-4 and three 1-2-3 finishes to open the season with a 92-85 dual win.

Swimming: Magalis wins state dive title
The thought of being a state champion started to creep into Tyler Magalis’ mind at the Class 2A State Meet in 2008.
The freshman had just finished 11th in the 1-meter dive behind six seniors, two juniors and two sophomores. Magalis had already been training as a swimmer for six years, and he figured three more years of training as a diver and it could be him at the top of the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center podium by 2011.
