Boys hockey: Top-seeded South sends Farmington packing
Keith Revels saw no reason to make up excuses. His Farmington Tigers simply ran into a better team in Saturday’s Section 1AA semifinals. Top-seeded Lakeville South scored three goals in each of the first two periods at the Rochester Recreation Center and ended up advancing to the section finals with a 7-0 victory. After averaging over seven goals per game during its recent four-game winning streak, the Farmington boys hockey team managed to find the net just three times during back-to-back road losses last week. The Tigers opened the week with a 2-1 overtime loss to a Shakopee team they’d beaten 6-1 just 11 days earlier.
