Farmington teacher is on state panel to develop new evaluation process

Farmington elementary schools compete in the spirit of the season Walk through the doors at either Akin Road Elementary School or Farmington Elementary School, and there’s no doubt kids get the whole “giving to others” concept. Just inside the entryway at both schools, there are piles of canned goods, boxed meals and other nonperishables. All of the collections are for the Farmington Food Shelf.

Put up for elimination, Farmington School District's German program gets support

FHS students plan Toys for Town fundraising events

Farmington High School will kick off its week of fundraising activities for Toys for Town with the annual Dodge Ball Tournament from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. The annual Mr. Farmington competition will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, in the FHS recital hall. Admission is $4 per person, with all proceeds going to Toys for Town.

Farmington superintendent Jay Haugen sees school officials as public servants, so he really doesn’t see providing homemade pie as that unusual when he talks about the state of School District 192 next week. “It’s really part of who I am and how we serve our communities,” Haugen said. “I think it’s important to gather people together, give them a forum to hear about the schools and gather input.”
