Editorial: Suit should have been settled sooner 
The settlement approved Monday to bring an end to a two-year-old lawsuit between Independent School District 192 and the architect that designed its new high school is welcome. It brings to an end a long dispute and ties up one of the last significant loose ends in the construction of a building that opened to students more than a year ago.

Davis will fill vacant board seat 
When the Farmington School Board came calling, Craig Davis figured he might as well lend a hand.
Davis, who served on the board from 2002 to 2007, was appointed Sept. 9 to serve the nearly four months left in the term of board chair Bob Heman, who stepped down three weeks ago and withdrew from the Nov. 2 school board election, citing the time commitment the job demanded.

In a matter of days, District 192 School Board chair Bob Heman went from board candidate to former board member.
Heman, who served 11 years on the board in two separate periods, announced plans last week to resign from the board. Board members officially accepted his resignation at their regular meeting Monday night.
