Boys basketball: A team in transition
It looks to be another year of transition for the Farmington boys basketball team. Missota Conference champions two years ago, the Tigers said goodbye to four senior starters that provided the bulk of their scoring and rebounding after the 2008-09 season. The team managed to go just 7-20 in 2009-10 as four seniors — Kyle Winkelman, Justin Lavey, Connor Duffy and Mike Jolliff — once again combined to score 43 of the team’s 60 points per game.By Matt Steichen , December 01, 2010

Boys basketball: 10-game skid ends with win vs. Prior Lake
The Tigers opened Missota Conference play last Tuesday with a good defensive effort at Shakopee, but lost their 10th in a row as the Sabers rallied late for a 52-51 victory. The team came back with an energetic effort Friday night when it scored a 73-60 home win over Prior Lake. But any momentum gained from that contest proved short-lived as Owatonna came to Tiger Gym Saturday and rolled to a 70-50 non-conference decision.By Matt Steichen , January 28, 2010
Boys basketball: Looking for answers
Farmington has been at a size disadvantage in just about every game it has played this year. That was once again the case Saturday night in Chaska. The 10th-ranked Hawks got 23 points apiece from 6-foot-7 juniors Ross Travis and Jake White and turned a commanding 53-32 halftime advantage into a 92-71 non-conference win, their sixth win in a row. Next season the teams will square off twice as Chaska is set to join the Missota Conference starting in the fall.By Matt Steichen , January 21, 2010
