With three weeks remaining in the regular season the Missota Conference race is wide open. Four teams sit tied atop the league standings at 6-2 — Farmington, Shakopee, Chanhassen and New Prague. For parts of four days last week the Farmington girls basketball team held a share of first place in the Missota Conference. With a Shakopee loss at Red Wing and a 58-37 victory over Chaska Tuesday night, the Tigers drew even with the Sabers at 5-1 in the league. Girls basketball: Shakopee hands Tigers first loss
Ninth-ranked Farmington got beat at its own game Friday night. The previously-unbeaten Tigers played their usual suffocating defense, but Shakopee’s was even better.
