Boys soccer: Tigers slip to third in Missota
The Farmington boys soccer team never lost when it scored a goal this season.
The Tigers finished the regular season 8-7-1 and were shut out in all seven of their losses, including two last week that ended hopes of a first-ever Missota Conference championship and left them third in the eight-team league for the second straight year.

The Tigers pulled away for a 3-1 win over Red Wing on their home field last Tuesday, and then overcame a slew of missed opportunities to hang on for a 1-0 shutout last Thursday at New Prague.

The Tigers seemed to have no trouble bouncing back from a pair of shutout losses as they scored a pair of 3-1 victories over Lakeville South and Rochester John Marshall at Tiger Stadium.

Boys soccer: Tigers' best season ends in first round of section
The most successful season in program history came to abrupt end last Thursday night in Northfield.
Fourth-seeded Northfield led 4-0 by the end of the first half and advanced past fifth-seeded Farmington with a 5-1 victory in the Section 1AA Tournament. The Raiders went on to upset No. 1-seed Lakeville North 1-0 on Saturday to advance to a section final against Rochester Mayo.

Boys soccer: Tigers finish third in Missota
Seniors accounted for eight of the team’s goals as Farmington achieved the highest Missota Conference finish in program history with a 10-0 shutout of New Prague on Senior Night last Thursday at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers finished the regular season 8-6-2 overall, including 4-2-1 in the league. Holy Angels won the conference with a perfect 7-0 mark and Northfield placed second, one-half game ahead of Farmington.
