FHS BPA members advance to state competition

Farmington High School will be well represented at the Business Professionals of America State Conference, a competitive event geared to develop competence in business and office occupations and grow student leadership skills overall. A total of five students advanced from the regional competition to the state event set for March 8-10 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.

McKnight returned to school board; Burke and Singewald join her

Current board chair Julie McKnight, the only incumbent in this year’s race, led all candidates with 6,504 votes in Tuesday’s election. She’ll be joined on the board next January by Tim Burke, who finished second with 6,313 votes, and Julie Singewald, who was third with 5,824.

As the No. 1 seed in the Class 5A, Section 1 playoffs, the Farmington football team earned a first-round bye. The Tigers now know who they will face in the semifinals — Lakeville South.
