Nate Rowan feels like he grew up a lot last week, and it's easy to understand why. The 2005 Farmington High School graduate was one of thousands who dedicated himself to building sandbag walls in hopes of protecting the cities of Fargo and Moorhead from the advancing Red River.
The Hutchinson boys tennis team kept Farmington winless with a 7-0 sweep in Missota Conference action Monday afternoon. The match had previously been postponed due to the weather on April 17 and 18, but conditions were near perfect on the third try at Farmington High School.
The Farmington baseball team allowed a total of 27 runs in the three Missota Conference games it lost last week. Senior starting pitcher Eric Estes helped reverse that trend, if only for a game, by limiting Hutchinson to one run on four hits over seven innings in a 2-1 road victory Monday afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Field in Hutchinson.
