VFW baseball: Post 7662 bows out with 14-8 record
The Farmington VFW baseball team showed just how much its offense has improved during a fourth-place finish at the sub-district tournament. Farmington belted three home runs —including two grand slams — and tallied 34 runs while splitting four games at South St. Paul. A 5-4 extra-inning loss to South St. Paul on Saturday left the team with a 14-8 record for the summer.By Matt Steichen , July 27, 2011

Registration for community ed youth football opens July 1
Farmington Community Education will open registration online for the fall youth football program beginning July 1. The program provides youth in grades 1-6 an opportunity to experience the game of tackle football, learn skills, build teamwork and develop good sportsmanship. Practice begins Aug. 29 and deadline for registration is Aug. 15.June 29, 2011

A long, successful weekend at the Grand Rapids Invitational finally caught up with the Farmington Legion baseball team Monday night.
