Quite a few new members joined the Rambling River Center when it moved to its current location on Oak Street, but quite a few others ended their memberships.
A scholarship program approved by the Farmington Economic Development Authority Monday may help some of those folks come back to the Rambling River Center.
Don Hayes has written two books about his life. The first, a spiral-bound edition, is called Life Memories. It covers the period from his birth in 1924 to 2006 and features, among other things, photos of his father, who was a trapper, a weed inspector and a boxer. The book also includes a page filled with photos of his childhood sweethearts.

Farmington resident Don Holz was recognized last week as the Outstanding Senior Citizen in Dakota County for all of his volunteer work.
Holz received the award Aug. 9 at the Dakota County Fair. Holz spends much of his time volunteering at various places in the area. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a “Friend of the Farm” at the Holz Historic Farm.
