Your weekend: Omelets and a concert are set for Sunday


Storytime for all ages

There will be a storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 7, Feb. 14, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 at the temporary Dakota County Farmington Library at Farmington City Hall. There will be stories and activities ideal for mixed-age audiences such as childcare groups and families.


Omelet breakfast

The Farmington Sons of the American Legion and VFW Men’s Auxiliary will hold an omelet breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 9 at the VFW. The club is located at 420 Third St.

Benefit concert

There will be a benefit concert for Lutheran Social Services at 3 p.m. Feb. 9 at Highview Christiania Lutheran Church in rural Farmington. Karla Wiese-Miller will direct her chamber choir. The concert will also feature Paul Burow, the Bondesang Quartet, Amy Wolter, Chris Brovod and Randy Ferguson. Lutheran Social Services provides a wide range of support. Upcoming events

Band concert

The Farmington High School jazz 1, jazz 2 and jazz 3 bands will give a free concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in the FHS recital hall. The concert will also feature a performance by the professional jazz ensemble Southern Minnesota’s REAL Big Band.

Parenting series

Farmington and Lakeville community education will hold a parenting workshop Feb. 10, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the lecture hall at Farmington High School. The topic is The Brain-Body Connection. The event is free and open to the public.
