Spring Clean Up Day

The city of Rosemount will hold its annual spring clean up day from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 21 in the east parking lot at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th Street E. Residents can enter the site off Audrey Avenue, just south of the college baseball field, to drop off unwanted items that are not normally accepted by their trash hauler. The event is for Rosemount residents only and participants must provide proof of residency and pay by cash or check. Scholarship run/walk

The second annual Moms and Neighbors 5K Scholarship Run/Walk will take place at 9 a.m. May 21 at Highland Elementary School in Apple Valley. All proceeds from the event will support a post high-school education scholarship fund for District 196 tenacious teens, who are choosing to make better lives for themselves despite overwhelming obstacles.The registration fee is $20 per adult and $10 per child, with a $50 maximum for families of four or more. Pet food farmer’s market

Chuck and Don’s Pet Food and Supplies will hold a farmer’s market event from 12 to 1 p.m. May 21 at their Rosemount location, 3852 150th St W. The event is designed for customers to learn about local pet food companies. Free samples and coupons from Midwestern manufacturers will be offered, and representatives from Tuffy’s Pet Foods, Sojos, Fromm Family Foods and Zignature will be available for questions. The farmer’s market will be held during Chuck and Don’s 26th annual birthday celebration, which runs from May 21 through 24. Sales, gift baskets, free treats and a photo contest are just a few of the opportunities available.

Free community tennis block party

The community is invited to attend the upcoming block party at the Rosemount High School tennis courts from 1 to 3 p.m. May 21. This event is being hosted by Rosemount High School Tennis, RAAA in-house and traveling tennis, and Rosemount Parks and Recreation. Representatives from each organization will be on hand to answer questions regarding their tennis programs and the opportunities available for tennis in Rosemount. Players from RAAA and Rosemount High School will be on hand for drills and fun tennis activities for kids. No experience is necessary. Community event

The businesses of Rosemount Plaza will hold a community event from 2 to 5 p.m. May 21 in the Rosemount Plaza parking lot, at the intersection of 145th Street and South Robert Trail. Medi-CAR Auto Repair, Chill Salon, The Guitar Shop, Lazy Leash and Rockstar Rebels invite the community to celebrate their anniversaries at a fun family event. Activities will include a live band, bounce house, baby farm animals, auto science demonstrations and more. Free food and beverages, including walking tacos, will be available while supplies last. The Rosemount Chamber Choir will perform the Medi-CAR Auto Repair jingle at 3 p.m., and there will be a drawing for prize baskets, including a kid’s bike, Twins tickets, pet care, and more.

Donations for 360 Communities are welcome.

Steak fry

The Farmington VFW will hold a steak fry fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. May 21 to support Steve Anderson as he fights cancer of the jaw and face. The VFW is located at 421 Third St.

Beer bash

There will be a beer bash fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. May 21 at Celts Pub in Farmington to raise money for pediatric cancer research. The $20 entry fee will go to two employees at Anytime Fitness in Farmington and one Anytime member who are participating in a 25.5-mile fundraising hike on the Superior Hiking Trail.

A Hard Day’s Night

The Rosemount Area Arts Council will present the Beatles tribute band A Hard day’s Night from 7 to 9 p.m. May 21 at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail. Meet the trainer

Chuck and Don’s Pet Food and Supplies will hold a Meet the Trainer event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 22 at their Rosemount location, 3852 150th St W. Customers will have to the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about their dog’s behavior from a certified trainer. Tristan and Kratos from Dog Day Getaway will be on site to answer training questions and perform some tricks and off-leash demos. Grab a few samples of treats while you’re there to see what your dog likes. This event will be held will be held during Chuck and Don’s 26th annual birthday celebration, which runs from May 21 through 24. Sales, gift baskets, free treats and a photo contest are just a few of the many opportunities available.

Rosemount’s citywide garage sale will take place May 19 to 21. Rosemount Parks and Recreation is assembling a sales map to be distributed countywide.
