Guitar Hero for teens

Teens can play Guitar Hero on the big screen at the Dakota County Farmington Library from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 19. The library is located at 508 Third St.

Tamarack Ridge Block Party

The businesses of Tamarack Ridge will hold their second annual block party from 4 to 8 p.m. July 19. The event will feature entertainment, information from businesses and other activities.

Ladies Night

Several Farmington businesses will offer special deals and other attractions during Ladies Night the third Thursday of each month. Participating businesses include Lillians, Market on Oak, Gossips, Celts Pub, the Longbranch Saloon and Eatery and Gerster Jewelers.


The Bazillions

Kids can sing catchy tunes about macaroni and cheese, a messy room and other events in the daily life of a kid from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. July 20 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The library is located at 508 Third St.

Live music

Singer-songwriter Mark Grim will perform acoustic folk music on his piano outdoors at Dunn Bros. Coffee from 8 to 10 p.m. July 20. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.


Downtown block party

The Farmington Business Association will hold a downtown block party and car show July 21. Registration for cars starts at 4 p.m. There will be a steel drum band from 4 to 8 p.m. and a VFW steak fry from 5 to 8. The band Standing Room Only will perform from 8:30 to 11.

Youth shoot

The Dakota County Gun Club will hold a free shooting event for kids 16 and younger from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 21. Kids can try their hand at shooting with a .22 rifle, a bow or a shotgun. All equipment is provided. For more information visit The club is located at 17501 Station Trail.

Travel safety seminar

There will be a AAA travel safety seminar from 7 to 8 p.m. July 23 at the Dakota County Farmington Library with tips on how to stay safe when traveling by plane or automobile, when staying in a hotel or when traveling internationally. Presented by AAA and Farmington Parks and Recreation. The library is located at 508 Third St.

5-Day Club

Bible Baptist Church and Crossroads Church will team up to offer a free five-day vacation bible school from July 23-27 in Farmington's parks. The sessions include Bible lessons, songs, games and other activities. Sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Akin Road Elementary School and Green Ridge Park, 1 to 3 p.m. at Dakota Estates Park, 2 to 4 p.m. at Prairie View Park and 6 to 8 p.m. at Daisy Knoll Park. Blood drive

There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. July 25 at the Church of St. Michael, 22120 Denmark Ave. in Farmington. To donate, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit to make an appointment. All blood types are needed.

Jewelry from Junk

ArtStart will help participants create a pin, a necklace or a bracelet to jazz up your wardrobe from 10 a.m. to noon July 26 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The session is for kids ages 4 to 12. The library is located at 508 Third St.
