Your weekend: Farmington Easter carnival is Saturday
Good Friday service
The Farmington Ministerium will hold its ecumenical Good Friday service at noon March 29 at Faith United Methodist Church. The service will focus on contrasts, the birth and death of Jesus as the celebration of Christmas, Good Friday and Easter are interconnected. There will be a light lunch following the service. All are welcome. Faith United Methodist Church is located at 710 Eighth St. in Farmington.
Storytime for all ages
There will be a storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. March 29 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Storytime includes stories and activities ideal for mixed-age audiences. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Good Friday service
Faith United Methodist Church in Farmington will hold a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 29. The service is "Voices Around the Cross." It will feature the intimate voices of those who stood around the cross. The church is located at 710 Eighth St. in Farmington.
Roger Holmes will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. March 29 at Dunn Bros. Coffee in Farmington. Dunn Bros. is located at 20100 Chippendale Ave.
The Farmington Business Association will hold the annual Easter Carnival from 9 to 11 a.m. March 30 at Meadowview Elementary School, 6100 195th St. W. The event will include games such as pick-a-duck, penny toss, pin the tail on the bunny and egg dive. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for photos.
Free Easter breakfast
New Heights Christian Fellowship will hold a free pancake/waffle breakfast at 9 a.m. March 31 at Rambling River Center in downtown Farmington. Worship service will follow at 10. For information visit www.nhcfchurch.org. The Rambling River Center is located at 431 Third St.
Wii games at the library
Teens can play bowling, skiing, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Just Dance and more on the big screen at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The Wii session will run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 1. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Planting for clean water workshop
There will be an introduction to creating beautiful gardens that keep our water clean from 6:15 to 8 p.m. April 1 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. See inspirational and affordable gardens. The session is presented by the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District. Registration is required for this free workshop. The Dakota County Farmington Library's evening book group will discuss The Upstairs Room by Johanna Reiss from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. April 1. The library is located at 508 Third St.
