One hurt in single-car accident Dec. 10 in Castle Rock

A 31-year-old Prior Lake man was airlifted after sustaining serious injuries in a Tuesday morning accident on Highway 50 in Castle Rock.

Farmington Fire/Rescue responded to the report of a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Highway 50 and Blaine Avenue at 12:01 p.m., Farmington fire marshal John Powers said.

The initial report indicated the 2013 Inifiniti G37 was westbound on Highway 50 when the driver, Lucas A. Hansen of Prior Lake, apparently lost control of his vehicle. According to Powers, it appeared Hansen’s car struck a guardrail, then hit a tree.

Hansen’s injuries were serious enough that Farmington rescue called North Memorial Air Care to transport him to a hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol and Dakota County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. The state patrol’s accident reconstruction team remained at the scene into the afternoon to conduct its accident investigation. Early reports from the state patrol say Hansen’s vehicle also rolled before coming to a stop.
