One hurt seriously in Highway 3 crash

A 20-year-old Farmington man was airlifted to Regions Hospital with serious injuries following a two-car accident that disrupted traffic for a time Tuesday night on Highway 3.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol report Kyle L. Tribbitt was northbound on Highway 3 at Connemara Trail when Brenda Zender, 37, of Rosemount, turned her 2008 Hondy Odyssey from southbound Highway 3 to eastbound Connemara. Tribbitt hit Zender's car head on.

Tribbitt had the right of way according to the State Patrol.

Zender did not receive any apparent injuries. There were no passengers in either car.

Assistant Rosemount fire chief Jim Voelker said it took a long time to extricate Tribbitt from his car. Firefighters and Rosemount police officers directed traffic around the crash while emergency crews worked. The accident happened around 4:40 p.m. and crews were still working at around 6.
