Farmington woman charged in pot-growing operation

A search warrant executed last June at a Farmington apartment has resulted in felony drug charges against a 20-year-old Farmington woman.

The Dakota County Attorney's office charged Olivia Danielle Gilliland with two felony-level controlled substance charges last week in relation to the June 16 search at an apartment building.

Police had conducted a search at the apartment building earlier in the day on the 16th, looking for a marijuana growing operation. They got a call later in the day from another resident of the building who said the operation had been moved to a different apartment. Police searched that apartment later in the day and found marijuana plants, equipment commonly used for growing marijuana and a "Ready, Set, Grow" DVD.

Each controlled substance charge carries a potential sentence of up to five years and fines of up to $10,000.
