Hampton man charged with making threats

A sibling's concern sparked threats of violence and, ultimately, criminal charges earlier this month in Hampton.

According to a complaint filed earlier this week in the Dakota County Attorney's office, 47-year-old Keith Bistodeau caused members of his family to worry about him when he tried to buy a weapon from them. One of Bistodeau's siblings told police Bistodeau is "known to be unstable" and could harm himself or others.

Bistodeau already faces separate charges of terroristic threats and third-degree assault.

When Bistodeau's sibling threatened to call police, he reportedly threatened to kill her.

If convicted on a charge of making terroristic threats, Bistodeau could face up to five years in jail and fines of up to $10,000.
