New faces on township boards in Castle Rock, Eureka

Voters in area townships made two changes to their roster of elected officials and filled one available seat March 10, but otherwise township elections offered little in the way of drama.

The changes came in Eureka Towship, and Castle Rock Township.

In Castle Rock, challenger Jon Juenke received more than twice as many votes as incumbent Drea Doffing in the race for Supervisor Seat D, 154 to 74.

The township's other incumbent fared better. Sandra Webber received 182 votes to 45 for challenger Michael Kiefer in the race for Supervisor Seat E. There were two write-in votes.

In Eureka, challenger Carrie Jennings unseated Mark Ceminsky for Supervisor Seat Three. Jennings received 229 votes to Ceminski’s 172. There was one write-in vote.

Also in Eureka, Dan Rogers received 252 votes to 151 for Pete Storlie in the race for Supervisor Seat Four. Incumbent Steve Madden was not on the ballot.

In Empire, supervisor Edward Gerten received just 18 votes, but did not have any challengers on the ballot.

Editor's note: This story originally identified Jon Juenke as an incumbent in the race for Castle Rock Supervisor Seat D. Drea Doffing was the incumbent in that race.
