Come to the library to use voice, gestures and actions as you read stories from scripts from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 26. Have a role, act it out and get dramatic. Registration required. Ages 7-10.

MaxaMom Fun 5K

Empire Township’s entertainment

Empire Township’s Sunday entertainment series is back for the summer. Activities start at 7 p.m. in Sachs Park. The next event is July 28. Dazzling Dave Schulte, yo-yo performer, is featured.

Weekend

Relay for Life

Farmington’s Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Boeckman Middle School and continue through the night until 6 a.m. Saturday, July 27. As of July 23 the 12-hour walking marathon had raised $26,858 for the American Cancer Society.

Sidewalk chalk art

Come to the Farmington library to show off your artistic talent and decorate the sidewalks outside from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 29. Program is weather-dependent. Ages 2-12.

Michelle Leonard
Michelle Leonard joined the Woodbury Bulletin staff in November, 2014, after 14 years covering news for the Bulletin's sister publication, the Farmington Rosemount Independent Town Pages.  Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications: News-Editorial from Mankato State University in 1991. She is an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Clifford Larson Unit 189 of Farmington, and is the 2014-15 Third District President to the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota. Michelle is also the volunteer coordinator for the Minnesota Newspaper Museum which is open annually during the Minnesota State Fair. She has earned Minnesota Newspaper Association awards in Investigative Reporting, Local News Coverage, Feature Photography and Column Writing.
