Amy Jean Kloster, 46
Amy Jean Kloster, 46, recently of Northfield, Minn., died Friday, July 21, 2017 after an extended battle with cancer.
She was thankful for the wonderful care team at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, and recently from the extraordinary love and care from the people at the "Chemo Caf" at the Northfield Hospital in Northfield, Minn.
In 1971, Amy joined parents Donald and Diane Kloster and soul sister Deanna Kloster as the latest Kloster girl. Before long, there were four Kloster girls when Sara Ailabouni and Jodi Iverson joined the mix. She couldn't know the depth of love, support and joy her family would provide throughout her life. Honorary sister friend Maria Auge was a blessing throughout her life.
Amy chose to live a simple life focused on love, peace and kindness toward others. She had a special fondness for older adults and learning from their experiences, wisdom and dedication to community.
The family soon expanded, with brother-in-laws Adam Ailabouni and Matt Iverson, and special friend Jim Towar. Creative, interesting and loving cousins came next: Ian Kloster -Couch; Luke, Liam and Claire Ailabouni; and Soren Iverson. They bring such joy, fun times and a willingness to try just about anything. The whole family continues to enjoy extreme embroidery, creatively crafted Jello and other ridiculous pursuits.
Amy was grateful for the love of a wonderful extended family that provided strong examples of living good lives and treating others with respect.
Amy greatly valued being part of the Aging Community in Milwaukee County with Interfaith Older Adult Programs and her "dream job" with the Milwaukee County Department on Aging. She was inspired by the vision and ideas of older adult volunteers, the dedication of senior center staff and the fierce ability of Milwaukee County Department on Aging Staff and community leadership to find creative solutions to very challenging situations.
Special thanks to wellness mentor and friend, David Hoffman.
