Editorial: Penalty for deputy should have been more significant

05/16/2008 12:00 AM
Twice now in recent memory Farmington residents mourning the lost of a loved one have had to watch as the person responsible for that death received a punishment they did not believe was adequate.

Column: Name that tune?

I feel like I used to know more about music. It's not that I was ever any kind of expert.

Letter: Clean up the cigarette butts

05/16/2008 12:00 AM
People didn’t like smoking in bars and other public places. Now how about all these cigarette butts all over streets in front of bar and grills and all over.

Letter: Curbside cleanup creates chaos

05/16/2008 12:00 AM
This is in regards to the yearly curbside clean up. While this is a great service offered to the residents of Farmington it also has become somewhat of a disturbance, which I am asking the mayor and council members to review for next year.

Letter: Climate change is not ‘false religion’

05/16/2008 12:00 AM

Opinion: Turnout for pond cleanup is encouraging

05/09/2008 12:00 AM
We imagine there were more than a few Farmington residents watching weather reports with some extra interest last Friday night. With rain, snow and cold forecast for Saturday morning, the nearly 500 people who had volunteered for Farmington's annual park and pond cleanup might have been wondering what they'd gotten themselves into.

Letter: School board has shown its true colors

05/09/2008 12:00 AM

Letter: Superintendent is hired to make recommendations

05/09/2008 12:00 AM
First, let me say that I admire the parents and residents who came to the April 28 open forum to speak their opinions about the new assistant superintendent position. It is not easy to dissent, but it is sometimes necessary. I want them to know that, while we may not agree on this issue, I don’t question their intentions in the least.
