Letter: Simones dedicated to making schools better

To the editor,

I am writing this letter to express my full support to elect Kimberlee Simones to the school board and to encourage anyone interested in responsibly improving our schools' performance to do the same.

I have been Kimberlee's neighbor for over 10 years, and in that time we have gotten to be great friends. Kimberlee is someone who sets clear goals and then diligently sets herself to accomplishing them. She cares deeply about our schools and the education her children receive and she will bring this same passion and energy to the school board.

I have witnessed her spending hours each night helping her kids on their homework. I have also seen her take time out of her schedule to meet with her children's teachers and administrators in order to understand their expectations and concerns. While some of the school board candidates are just now getting to meet all the different schools and district departments, Kimberlee has spent the last 10 years doing just that in a genuine effort to ensure they have her support as a parent.

Finally, Kimberlee understands the residents in this district and is sympathetic to the financial stresses everyone is under, whether they have kids in school or not. I am here to tell you that we can all trust Kimberlee to appreciate the generosity of the district's taxpayers. She will earn your trust to be a responsible steward of the taxpayer's money, and use it wisely to make academic excellence a priority.

I hope you will all join me in voting for Kimberlee Simones on Sept. 9.
