Swimming: Another stellar showing

Kaitlyn O'Reilly was part of four first-place finishes and Caitlin and Kirsten Kracke each contributed to three during Farmington's 100-80 Missota Conference swimming and diving win over Chaska at Dodge Middle School.

O'Reilly opened with a winning 2:02.72 clocking in the 200 freestyle, then sandwiched a victorious 1:01.74 in the 100 backstroke with appearances in the first-place 200 and 400 freestyle relays. She was joined by Abby Haugen and the Kracke sisters in the 200 freestyle and Sarah O'Reilly, Chloe Holton and Ellie Sundet in the meet-closing 400 freestyle.

Sundet, the Krackes and Elizabeth Wolfe set the tone for the meet by cruising to a winning time of 2:02.19 in the 200 medley relay.

The Tigers ended up first in the meet's first four events as Caitlin Kracke followed O'Reilly's 200 freestyle with a first-place showing in the 200 individual medley and Kirsten Kracke topped the field in the 50 freestyle.

Chaska got in the win column by claiming the 1-meter dive and the 100 butterfly, but the Tigers placed 2-3-4 and 2-4-5 to add to their lead by a point over the two-event stretch.

The Tigers earned the top three spots in the 100 freestyle where Sarah O'Reilly's time of 59.42 seconds put her just ahead of teammates Haugen and Sara Kintner. They also occupied the top three spots in the 100 backstroke where Sundet and Hannah Seitzinger finished behind O'Reilly in 1:09.78 and 1:09.79, respectively.

Wolfe capped off the individual races with an easy victory in the 100 breaststroke.

The Tigers are back in action tonight in another Missota Conference dual meet against New Prague at Montgomery-Londsale High School. They compete again Saturday at the True Team Section Meet at Faribault.
