Girls basketball: Tigers get rematch with North in 1AAAA
The Farmington girls basketball team will take an eight-game losing streak into the Section 1AAAA tournament after being doubled up by Lakeville North 71-35 in Friday’s regular season finale.
The Tigers earned the No. 8 seed in Section 1AAAA and a rematch with the top-seeded Panthers in the first round Wednesday night back at North. In Friday night’s preview, the Panthers pulled away in the second half by outscoring the visitors 43-18 over the final 18 minutes.
Molly Mogensen led Farmington with 11 points. She was joined in double figures by Sydney Blandin, who scored 10 points. Tarah DeCroock added seven.
The Tigers carried a 35-32 lead into halftime on Senior Night last Tuesday against Burnsville, but the Blaze rallied to grab a 65-55 win.
Alyssa Wagner led the team with 20 points. Blandin scored 14 and Mogensen added 11.
The Tigers (6-20) finished 10th in the South Suburban Conference.
