Clarence J. Rother, age 88, of Farmington, passed away April 14, 2011. Memorial Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Hampton. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to donor's choice.
Harry Baker, age 95, of Northfield, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Reflections Suites of the Three Links Campus in Northfield. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield with burial at the Red Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Harry Francis Baker was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Davenport, Iowa, son of Frank and Alice (Bothfuhr) Baker. In the spring of 1916 his family purchased the Baker farm north of Northfield in Waterford Township.
Margaret Gjerning, age 85, of Farmington, passed away on April 11, 2011. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Rd., Farmington, with visitation 1 hour prior to service at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Catherine M. Eilen, age 85, of Hampton, passed away on April 9, 2011, at the Trinity Care Center in Farmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, Minn., with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment church cemetery.
William G. Darsow, age 87, of Farmington, passed away on April 8, 2011. Funeral services were held Monday, April 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Farmington. Interment, Farmington Lutheran Cemetery.
Kurt F. Schneider, age 88, of Rosemount, passed away on April 7, 2011. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, at the White Funeral Home, 901 Third St., Farmington, with visitation from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and also 1 hour prior to service. Memorials will be donated to Prolife Across America.
Carl M. Ekness, age 89, of Farmington, Minn., passed away on April 1, 2011, in St. Paul, Minn. Carl was born in Hurdsfield, N.D., on Jan. 22, 1922, the son of Olai and Inga Ekness. Inga had immigrated from near Bergen, Norway, in 1902, and Olai had immigrated from Bergen, Norway, in 1906. Both settled in Hurdsfield, a Norwegian community in north central North Dakota.
Molly Bourn Olson, age 86, of Woodville, Wis., born July 31, 1924, in Farmington, Minn., died on March 29, 2011, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis. Services for Molly Olson will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Wis. Burial will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will take place for 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday as well as from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Susan K. Grinsteinner, beloved wife, mom, grandma, and dear friends, age 61, of Oakdale. Surrounded by her family, Sue peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven on March 25, 2011. Preceded in death by father, Raoul Anderson. Survived by loving husband of 42 years, Ray; children, Bretta and Matt; cherished grandson, Todd; mother, Jeanette Anderson; brother, Curt Anderson (Pam) and their children, Chris (Erikka) and Nora Frye (Arnold); extended family and many loving friends. Patrick Kleve, age 78, of St. Louis, Mo., a former Farmington resident, died March 19, 2011. He is the brother of Virginia Carey of Farmington.
