Jeanette M. Soltys, 79, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday May 20, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend. She was born on June 11, 1929 in Plum City, Wis., to the late Frank and Magdalene (Sagstetter) Hince. On June 20, 1953 in Minneapolis, she married Joseph L. Soltys who preceded her in death on August 24, 2005 in Osceola. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Hoffman and a brother, Joseph Hince. She was a retired registered nurse. She graduated in 1947 from high school in Farmington. Received her nursing degree in St. Paul.
Mabel Marie Frandrup, age 82 of Farmington, passed away June 3, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Friday, June 5 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Farmington. Funeral mass was held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, Ind., with Fr. Daniel Scheidt officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Vincent Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Doris Amelia (Anhorn) Mechura, age 95, of Faribault, mother of four including Anton (Bonnie) Mechura of Farmington, died on Monday, May 25, 2009 at the St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Luke's Church, Faribault, with the Rev. Aaron Brockmeier officiating. Interment will be held in the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be held in the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m.
Robert Hugh Morrison was born June 13, 1938, in Penn Yan, New York, to Hugh M. and Mary M. (Madison) Morrison. He was raised in Farmington and as a teenager moved with his mother to Port Orford, Ore. He graduated from Port Orford High School in 1957 and returned to Farmington. He attended Mankato State College and after his education, operated his own trucking company. He founded the Semi Truck Drivers Instruction Program at Dakota County VoTech and remained there until his retirement.
Mathias May, age 89, of Farmington, passed away on May 6, 2009. He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin "Bud" May and sister, Veronica Lucking. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Bertha; children, Betty (Neil) Samuels, David (Suzie), Douglas (Vivienne), Barbara High and Bonnie (Gary) Ewald; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Lewis, Mary Ann Fleming and Lorraine (Dwain) Otte; and many other family and friends. Visitation was held May 8 at the White Funeral Home in Lakeville.
Esther Alvina Massee, 87, of Atchison, Kan., formerly of Farmington, Minn., died Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Gran Villas of Atchison. Memorial funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First Christian Church, with Rev. Lee Hendon officiating. The body has been cremated and interment of the cremated remains will be at a later date in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Louisville, Wis. The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
Jeremy C. Christensen age 23 of Lake City passed away April 27, 2009 in Trenton Township. Jeremy was born March 25, 1986 in Red Wing to Gerald & Dawn (Dubisar) Christensen. Jeremy moved from Rosemount to Lake City in 1999 and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 2004. He worked at Heat & Glo, J & B Pallet, Bronk's Bar in Lake City, and FSS in Red Wing. Jeremy was currently employed at Treasure Island Resort & Casino as a Chef. He married Meta Lee August 5th, 2007 in Lake City. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City.
