Fred Partington, age 88, of Hastings, originally of Farmington, died May 29, 2009 at Regina Medical Center. The funeral service, officiated by Gordon Gathright was held at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home on June 1, 2009. Interment with military honors provided by Hastings V.F.W. Jeanette M. Soltys, 79, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday May 20, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend. She was born on June 11, 1929 in Plum City, Wis., to the late Frank and Magdalene (Sagstetter) Hince. On June 20, 1953 in Minneapolis, she married Joseph L. Soltys who preceded her in death on August 24, 2005 in Osceola. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Hoffman and a brother, Joseph Hince. She was a retired registered nurse. She graduated in 1947 from high school in Farmington. Received her nursing degree in St. Paul.

Jeanette M. Soltys, 79, formerly of Farmington, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend. Funeral mass was held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, Ind., with Fr. Daniel Scheidt officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Vincent Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Doris Amelia (Anhorn) Mechura, age 95, of Faribault, mother of four including Anton (Bonnie) Mechura of Farmington, died on Monday, May 25, 2009 at the St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Luke's Church, Faribault, with the Rev. Aaron Brockmeier officiating. Interment will be held in the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be held in the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m.
Robert Hugh Morrison was born June 13, 1938, in Penn Yan, New York, to Hugh M. and Mary M. (Madison) Morrison. He was raised in Farmington and as a teenager moved with his mother to Port Orford, Ore. He graduated from Port Orford High School in 1957 and returned to Farmington. He attended Mankato State College and after his education, operated his own trucking company. He founded the Semi Truck Drivers Instruction Program at Dakota County VoTech and remained there until his retirement.
Mathias May, age 89, of Farmington, passed away on May 6, 2009. He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin "Bud" May and sister, Veronica Lucking. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Bertha; children, Betty (Neil) Samuels, David (Suzie), Douglas (Vivienne), Barbara High and Bonnie (Gary) Ewald; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Lewis, Mary Ann Fleming and Lorraine (Dwain) Otte; and many other family and friends. Visitation was held May 8 at the White Funeral Home in Lakeville.
