NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON INTENTION TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION STREET
RECONSTRUCTION PLAN BONDS AND PROPOSAL TO ADOPT A STREET
RECONSTRUCTION PLAN THEREFOR
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Town Board of Empire Township, Minnesota (the "Town"), will meet on February 26, 2019, at 8:00 PM at the Empire Town Hall, 3385-197th Street, Farmington, Minnesota, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on (i) the intention to issue general obligation street reconstruction plan bonds in an amount not to exceed $4,000,000 (the "Bonds") and (ii) the proposal to adopt a street reconstruction plan therefor (the "Plan"). The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to finance various street reconstruction projects within the Town, including reconstructing 170th and 200th Streets and financing the Town's share of the Highway 3 reconstruction project, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 475.58, Subdivision 3b. A copy of the Plan is available for examination at the Empire Town Hall.
All persons interested may appear and be heard at the time and place set forth above, or may file written comments with the Clerk-Treasurer prior to the date of the hearing, which written comments will be considered at the hearing.
If a petition requesting a vote on the issuance of the Bonds is signed by voters equal to five percent of the votes cast in the Town in the last municipal general election and is filed with the Town within 30 days after the public hearing, the Town may issue the Bonds only after obtaining the approval of the majority of the voters voting on the question of issuing the Bonds.
