Lesetmoe "Jean"

Imogene O. Lesetmoe "Jean" age 94, of Farmington, passed away on December 25, 2017, 1 day before her 95th birthday. Imogene "Jeannie" O. Lesetmoe was born in Sauk Center Minnesota on December 26th 1922. Her parents were Bernice and Clark Barry and Jeannie was the youngest of 11 children. She grew up on a farm in Burtrum, Minnesota. She attended school in Burtrum through 10th grade. She married Paul Mandigo and had three children, Annetta, Maxine, and Phillip. She was living in Farmington, Minnesota while raising her family and began working at Buckbee Mears in St. Paul, Minnesota. Later, she married her second husband Henry Williams and they had one child, Marc. Years later, still working at Buckbee Mears she met Orlin Lesetmoe. They married in 1960 and had one child, Aprile. She first moved to Farmington in early 1940's, where Paul worked at the Ford Plant in St. Paul Minnesota. Jeannie's first job was at Brown & Bigelow when she was 25 years old. Two years later she moved to Buckbee Mears in St. Paul and began her career as an inspector of plating, electronics, and other manufactured goods. After 35 years there, she retired at the age of 62. During her life, Jeannie was dedicated to the VFW and served as Chaplin, Treasurer and Secretary for more than 65 years in Post 7662 in Farmington. She served at the First Presbyterian Church of Farmington and loved being part of the sewing circle with the ladies.

She was very active, whether it is cooking, cleaning, shopping, driving, bowling, VFW events, parades, etc, right up to her 90's. She especially enjoyed bowling and was always on at least one team from her 20's until she reached 90. She suffered a stroke three months after her 90th birthday and although those activities stopped, she was still able to live at home for a couple more years with Orlin's wonderful care.

In retirement Jeannie also had enjoyed being able to care for her grandchildren. She was always available when her children needed her. She moved into a care center in Rosemont and eventually to Carefree Living in Burnsville, until her death on December 25th, 2017. Jean is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nicole Fyksen, and siblings, Eva, Theo, Clark, Mary, Dick, James, Ned, Floyd, Maxine, and Bernice. She is survived by, Orlin Lesetmoe; children, Annetta (Jim) Fyksen, Maxine (Ron) Wrase; Phillip (Sheryl) Mandigo, Marc Williams, Aprile Eich (fianc, Dave Barton); 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; also by many nieces, nephews, and other family. Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the White Funeral Home Chapel, 901 3rd St. Farmington (651-463-7374) with visitation on Friday (12/29) from 4-7 PM and 1 hr. prior to service all at the funeral home, Interment, Corinthian Cemetery, Farmington, In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
