373 do the Dew Run
New champions were crowned in both races at Saturday morning's 37th-annual Dew Run in downtown Farmington.
Cole Geschwind made the trip from Rochester and won the feature four-mile race, covering the flat course through the streets of Farmington in 22 minutes, 56 seconds. Kyle Serreyn of Lakeville was second out of a field of 241 runners in 23:29.
The Geschwinds completed a sweep of the four-mile races when Meg Geschwind won the women's division in 27:16.
A pair of Farmington High School runners set the pace in the one-mile race. Jaryn Newbrough, who the previous week helped the Tiger 4x800 relay place 10th at the Class 2A state track meet, won with a time of 5:11. Teammate Regan Sevenich came in second out of 132 runners in 5:14.
In the women's division, 10-year-old Daisy Islas came in first in 5:47. Lisa Kresky-Griffin of Farmington placed second in 6:01.
Rounding out the top 10 in the mile were Patrick Eastman, Brian Janaszak, Jason Schultz, Gerald Butler, BJ Knight, Reece Thelen of Farmington, David Peterson and Daniel Tian of Farmington.
Jan Rybar paced the rest of the four-mile field with a third-place time of 24:32. Farmington High School distance runner Noah Revels placed fourth in 24:48 and James Hill of Farmington rounded out the top five with a 24:57 clocking. Michael Pelzel of Farmington, Gerald Butler, Troy Feustec, Meg Geschwind and Jason Schultz completed the top 10.
Other Farmington runners to break 30 minutes were Travis Van Neste, Daniel Tian, Carter Altmann, Benjamin Johnson, Sharon Stubler, Jeff Adelmann, Josh Rundquist, Jaryn Newbrough, Lisa Kresky-Griffin, Justin Voth, Kelsey Thelen, Erica Sherman, Noah Jenson, Chris Benjamin and Regan Sevenich.
Rich Mohrland paced all Rosemount finishers with a 34th-place time of 30:15.
