The Farmington Tigers boys' swimming and diving team put on a performance this past weekend at the Section 1AAA meet as they sent eight different swims to Class AA state. The 200-yard medley and 400 freestyle relay teams both qualified; senior Zach Nelson in the 200 and 500 freestyle, junior Seth Krause in the one-meter dive and 200 individual medley, junior Ethan Hanes in the 50 freestyle and senior Ben Moorlach in the 100 freestyle. The meet was held Thursday and Friday, Feb. 21-22, at the Rochester Recreation Center in Rochester and the Tigers took fourth as a team with 299 points. The state meet runs Thursday, Feb. 28-Saturday, March 2, at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota's campus.

After the meet, head coach Ryan Hamen said that almost his entire team put up best-times over the course of the two days.

"Watch yesterday's meet, the times were like 99 percent best times, and the best times were dropping two, three, sometimes four seconds. Whatever we're doing, something worked out," he said. "Zach Nelson did a great job in his 200 free and 500 free, he's been working at it all season long. Seth Krause in the 200 IM and the diving, I mean he was a little bit disappointed he couldn't finish out that last dive where he wanted to but he still has another chance to take it on at state. His 200 IM, he dropped some great time with that, we have a lot of tile to take down at the pool, a lot of records coming down this year."
